How can we improve Simkl?

  3. Sort by Air Date of "Next episode to Watch"

    Useful when catching up on related shows that crossover a lot, like Arrowverse (Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow).

  4. Apply filters and better sort options to your lists

    I can't find a way to filter by genre AND sort by my personal rating (score) for the movies I've watched. In other words, if someone asks me, "What are the best sci-fi movies you've watched in the last 10 years?" I would NOT be able to find that information easily in Simkl because there's no way to filter by genre and sort by my own rating on a single page.

    More info: The profile page allows me to sort by my personal rating (score), but there's no genre filter there. And the movies page allows me to filter by…

    We are currently working on a new views for Genres and Your lists which would allow easier filtering and sorting options.

    Right now you can open sci-fi movies genre, then hover on “Shows: All” and select “I’ve seen this” and sorty by other options. Where you will see how many stars you have rated the movie.

  6. "My list" - show all unwatched show even if they are not airing anymore

    In section "Profile > My List" you are showing latest-aired shows. Please show there ALL unwatched tv-shows, even if they are not aired anymore.

  7. Widgets on phone app

    Widgets for calendars would be very cool. That way, you can see your calendar from your phone without looking at the app itself. TV Time has similar widgets, and I would love to see this from Simkl.

  8. Series ended on Post Page

    I would like see series ended across the front of the poster on the profile page. Similar to how you have the episode numbers listed.

  9. Adding a new show without English translation

    If a TV show has not got a Title/Descriptions in English the TV show can not be added. Sometimes TV Shows that are not English spoken, have no translation on TVDB for theirs title. The TV show should be added anyways respecting it's original title and language.

    I've seen that happen to a show that has description in Spanish and English but the title is only in Spanish and Simkl refuses to recognize the show

  10. TMDb for TV shows as well

    TVDB does not allow extended versions of shows (even when their network considers them a different show). Because of this any such shows will have incorrect statistics. TMDb (which is already used to source the movie info) now also supports TV shows, and is much easier to contribute to if corrections are needed. This would also reduce the overhead for Simkl (one less API to worry about breaking).

  11. Different Rating Scales

    The ability to switch to rating scales other than integers from 1-10 would be useful. I prefer a 0.x-10.0 scale (or 1-100 or whatever) for more fine tuned rankings.

  12. A better Android app that allows to rate content

    Existing app is a good companion, but it could be better. I think the only thing that can be improved is the way you rate content in the app. For example, if you want to rate an episode, you need to click that episode and it will open the listing on the web page (which is actually bugged, scrolling doesn't work sometimes). Instead, you can create a new UI for the episode and any other content that can be rated.

  16. Information on sequels for anime on the page

    For example, for Sword Art Online, you could put its sequel, Sword Art Online II, and its movie, Sword Art Online: Extra Edition, directly above the "people who liked Sword Art Online also liked..." section.

  17. Have an option of entering in when you watched it...on release day or some other day

    Like on trakt.tv you click on watch and then the website gives you an option: Right Now, On Release Date, or Other Date. I'd like to have that...thanks!

  18. Netflix and Amazon Network Categories

    You do not have a category for Netflix or Amazon under networks. Doing this would allow us to see shows provided by those media content creators as they do act as 'networks' in that sense.

  19. Favourite shows

    As well as you can mark tv shows, series and cartoons as "watching" or "on hold". There should be a favourite option, so you can keep track of your favourite shows.
