How can we improve Simkl?

  2. Include repeat airings of episodes

    If I've started watching an old series that premiered a long time ago (e.g. ncis, Hawaii 5-0 etc.) then it would be useful to know when the episodes I haven't seen yet are airing. From what I can see from your website you only show new airings of shows on your tv episode calendar.

  3. Clearly list streaming options from a title's main page

    Right now you have to click on an episode to see the available streaming options, but there should be a clear list of available streaming options for the series in general from the main information page of any title. This is a feature on the mobile apps.

  4. TV/Anime/Movies Rating via Poster

    Please allow the rating of TV/Anime/Movie via their poster across the website. This is done somewhat under Movies, but it would be nice if this option was available across all posters instead of having to click the poster, choose an option, go back, and refresh.

  5. provide a user-definable way to prioritize my watch list

    I think it's great you provide different ways to sort my watch list (Popularity, Rank, Votes, Release date, Alpha, etc)

    It would be nice if you provided say way to sort my watch list manually.

    This could be anything from dragging and dropping titles up and down a list to adding a user priority to a title (say 1 to 5 stars) and sorting on this.

    would love to hear from others in the community ways we should be able to sort our watch list which can easily grow well beyond 100-200 titles!

    Using Lists v2 you can save sorting options (!20 different sort options added) for any view into the new Layout.


    Favorites were added as a way to prioritize the watchlist.

  7. Groups

    If you are familiar with "Steam", you'll know about groups. Users can create their own groups, public or private/invite only, for all kind of interests.

    Why I'd consider this useful is to invite already existing communities to simkl. On all kinds of forums you'll find people talking about which movies and shows they recommend - why not make it easier for them?

    With groups they'd have to chance to connect with familiar names immediately. And you could offer tons of statistics based on the group's interests.

  8. Order of the episodes

    It would be good if we can change the order of the episodes. It is Last-to-First as default but I would like to sort them First-to-Last.

  9. Skip a season of a show

    There are some anthology series out there of reality shows with every season a new cast. Sometimes a season just didn't is good or I want to skip that season.

    Ofcourse you can mark that season as watched without watching it, but a skip season but still watching the show feature would be kinda neat, because I don't have to mark something as watched I didn't watched.
    Dropped is no option because I want to skip only a season (So maybe a drop a season feature?)

    Recommendations for shows should be done like myanimelist, where it's community driven. so many shows have bad recommendations. which in turn make the site annoying to navigate to find good things based on my interests.

  11. When will the review series/movie feature be available?

    Love what I've seen so far of Simkl! When will the review feature and the friends feature be available? Also is there a possibility for a "recommend to friend" feature in the future? Where you can recommend shows and movies to your friends and they can do the same. I think that would be good.

  12. Add functionality to /tv page

    From the tv shows list (userid/tv), you've provided a great chart that should be good for bulk editing. Especially after the initial "import from Netflix" event, my TV list has a ton of shows listed but not differentiated. From this page, it is fairly easy to click down each one and providing a rating. Should also be able to categorize as watching/want to watch/etc. Given that the imports contain a lot of shows that I have watched in the past, I'd recommend a new default category for these that sorts below "Watching" (which I think of as my "current" shows).…

    -the ability to scroll in Recently Watched for older watched stuff
    -show "more menu" and rating option in all categories
    -show the title in "more menu" or under the poster (sometimes the poster it's not enough)
    -mark episodes as watched from my list in dashboard

  14. Easier button to manually add an episode/multiple eps/season/full series to collection/to watch

    Easier button to manually add an episode/multiple eps/season/full series to collection/to watch - it's very well possible it's already there and that I haven't spotted it yet :-) my apologies in that case.. but that would be of help until I have my own api calls & script ready which scans my movies/series NAS and adds when not yet on the site.on the site.

    i hate the fact that when i add something i watched years ago, it classes it as watched recently. would be nice if we can simply add movies and tv shows without that happening

    But all of them lack the ability to track audiobooks.

  19. Create a Sub/Dub option for anime

    If possible, please add a sub/dub option in the anime page instead of a separate US release. Also, please enable separate episode trackers for the sub/dub versions.

  20. More countries in the countries tab.

    Adding more countries to separate the shows that it's based in. So, for example, include countries like Australia and India has a lot of shows have come from that area.
